Judith A. Shively, J.D., M.A.
practices bankruptcy, domestic relations and custody law, as well as
other areas of general practice, including estate and business planning,
real estate, and criminal law. Ms. Shively received her B.A. degree from
the University of Denver in 1969, where she was a member of the Phi Beta
Kappa honorary society. She earned her M.A. degree in communication in
1970 and Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 1986, both from the University of
Denver. Ms. Shively began the practice of law in 1986 as an associate
with McKie and Associates, and later partnered in the Denver firm of
Dworkin & Shively, P.C. In 1991, Ms. Shively formed her own firm, Judith
A. Shively, P.C., purchasing the law offices of Kent J. Finney in Yuma,
Colorado, thus establishing a foothold in the eastern plains. A member
of the Colorado Bar Association, she has practiced law for over 20
years. As a mediator, Ms. Shively has over 25 years of experience
working with individuals, families, business, and agricultural based
issues. She combines her degrees in law and communication and her
experience in financial management and counseling to bring practical and
empathetic solutions to problems. She has trained with Collaborative
Growth, LLC to meet the recommended training criteria of the Colorado
Council of Mediators and Mediation Organizations and the Colorado Bar
Association.
Theodore P. Demos, J.D. received his undergraduate degree
in Biology from Vanderbilt University in 1986 and earned his law degree
from the University of Denver in 1991. Mr. Demos began his law career as
an associate in Ms. Shively’s firm in 1992. He became a partner in 1998
when the firm became Shively & Demos, P.C. Mr. Demos practices mainly in
the field of bankruptcy, including Chapter 7 (liquidation), Chapter 13
(wage earner reorganization) and Chapter 11 (small business reorganization),
with more than 13 years experience in the area. His practice also
includes corporate law, with an emphasis on business organization, real
estate law, estate planning and probate, as well as the representation
of children as a Special Advocate and Guardian ad Litem. A former
emergency medical technician, working through law school in urgent and
trauma care facilities and on air ambulances, Mr. Demos gathers his
experience as both an attorney and as a former health care professional
to provide compassionate, understanding and honest legal advice to
clients and to advance his communication and counseling skills in the
general practice of law.
Tiffany L. Shively Demos, is
our Chapter 7 bankruptcy specialist, with over 12 years practicing
bankruptcy law. Ms. Shively Demos received her B.A. degree from the
University of Denver graduating with the honors of magna cum laude and
Phi Beta Kappa. Ms. Shively Demos began working in her mother’s law firm
in high school and continued to work at the family firm throughout
college and law school, receiving her J.D. from the University of Denver
in 1995. Working first as an administrative assistant, later serving as
office manager and eventually becoming an associate attorney with the
firm has given Ms. Shively Demos a unique perspective on what it really
means to be a compassionate attorney. Interacting with clients at every
level for over twenty years has given Ms. Shively Demos the insight and
ability to provide first class service to each and every client. In a
legal world that often neglects and treats clients poorly, Ms Shively
Demos has made it her mission to consistently treat each client as if
they are her only client.
